Right - This month’s fundamentals article in 3D World #153 which I wroted - deals with one of the areas of 3D that the more I use the more sleep I get, which goes against the grain for most things in 3D come to think of it. The number of artists who I have met, who don’t see compositing as part of their workflow brings me out in hives. Anyway this was the first issue of 3D World which I perused via the iPad, and the team at 3D World have done a magnificent job with the digital conversion, and this is going to be my preferred way of getting the magazine from now on, which this month, as ever, is ram packed with excellent article and tutorials.

Big thanks to Rob Redman and everyone at 3D world, especially the Art Department who did an amazing job with the article

Filmed using a Canon 7D with EF100 Macro lens all handheld as can be seen.

Edited with Final Cut Pro X, with colour work in Magic Bullet Mojo.

Quick link to my good friend James Fisher, a really good up and coming DOP, who needed a creativebloke to give him a quick hand on his title sequence. For those of a technical nature I used the Foundry’s camera tracker plugin in After Effects to lock the text, awesome plugin, but it proved i need to relearn mocha, which i am fairly sure would have been quicker.

Anyway enjoy James Reel

Hi all, delighted to say that I have another fundamentals piece in this month’s 3D World, this time its modelling galaxies and other bits of space dust. Kind of exciting for me, as its the first Cinema 4D render I have created for 3D world, the previous findamentals where created in modo, but thats not the app for galaxies.

The issue also includes my review of the wacom inkling, which you can also find on the 3D World site rush out to the newsagents or your iPad now as its a great issue with some really interesting Blender stuff this month.
